Beginner Galveston Bay Fishing Trips
Our family-friendly charters are designed for those new to fishing, including families with young children. These shorter trips offer a relaxing day on the water, staying close to the marina area. Whether you’re excited to learn basic fishing techniques, want to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the bay, or just need a short and fun getaway, our beginner-friendly charters provide a welcoming and laid-back experience for anglers of all ages and skill levels.
Target Species
The Galveston area is known for its rich variety of popular sportfish and some of the best-eating fish in the Gulf. On our trips, you’ll have the opportunity to target a range of inshore species such as redfish, speckled trout, flounder, black drum, stingrays, alligator gar, and sheepshead. Whether you’re after a fight or a delicious meal, Galveston offers it all.
Where We Go
We focus on areas closer to shore, such as piers, docks, the Intracoastal Waterway, railroad tracks, and causeway bridges—spots that are nearby the marina and attract fish. These sheltered locations offer a calm, enjoyable fishing experience, making them ideal for beginners and families looking to have a relaxing day on the water.
What's Included
We’ve got everything covered! When you arrive at Harborwalk Marina, the boat will be fueled, the rods rigged, and the cooler stocked with ice. Your USCG-certified captain will have bait ready for your Galveston inshore fishing adventure and will be there to assist every step of the way.
Safety is our number one priority on our beginner fishing charters. You can be as involved as you like with rigging bait and handling the fish. We want to make sure you have unforgettable memories and epic photos, all while ensuring safe and proper handling of your catch.
What To Bring
Come prepared for the weather with comfortable clothing and sun protection. We provide a cooler filled with ice, so be sure to bring your waters, snacks, lunch, and any other beverages you may want for the day. Your captain will reach out before your trip to provide more details on what to bring, and we’re always here to help with any questions you might have.
Guests over 17 years old will need a Texas Saltwater Fishing License. Contact us if you need assistance ordering the right license for your trip.
If you’re prone to seasickness, we recommend taking non-drowsy seasickness medication the night before and again on the morning of your trip for the best results.
