Red snapper fishing off the coast of Galveston is both thrilling and rewarding. The season usually runs from June to July, providing prime conditions for catching these hard-fighting fish. Known for their aggressive strikes and exceptional flavor, red snapper is a favorite among anglers of all experience levels. They can be found in various spots around Galveston, including offshore reefs, wrecks, and ledges. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a beginner, a red snapper fishing trip with Galveston Fishing Adventures will surely be a memorable adventure.
Target Species
While Red Snapper is our primary target on these trips, there are plenty of other hard-fighting and delicious species we might catch. These include king mackerel, amberjack, grouper, and cobia. These exciting species add even more thrill to our Red Snapper trips, ensuring a memorable and rewarding day on the water—because you never know what you’ll reel in next!
Where We Go
We’ll be heading about 30 miles off the coast to target Red Snapper in deeper waters, usually around artificial reefs, oil rigs, and natural ledges.
These structures offer the perfect habitat for snapper, providing both shelter and an abundant food supply. We’ll typically be bottom fishing using live or dead baits like shrimp, squid, or cut bait. If we spot any birds, weedlines, or schools of bait along the way, we may make a quick stop to target other species, keeping the action going throughout the day.
