Galveston Shark Fishing Charters
Our Galveston Shark Fishing Trips are among our most popular charters and always deliver an amazing experience. This trip is perfect for those who want to experience Galveston offshore fishing while keeping land in sight. The adrenaline of hooking a monster shark is absolutely thrilling! These trips are ideal for anglers of all skill levels, and we welcome families and kids to join in on the fun and create unforgettable memories with exciting fights.
Target Species
We’re targeting a variety of shark species around Galveston, including Blacktip, Spinners, Hammerheads, Sandbar Sharks, and Atlantic Sharpnose. On rare occasions, we may hook into the elusive Tiger Shark or Lemon Shark.
Our approach to catching sharks depends on the season, but we always use a mix of cut bait to attract a bite.
From mid-July to the end of August, the excitement peaks for shark fishing in Galveston. During this time, we head offshore to fish behind shrimp boats. Once we get the baits in the water, you’re often hooked into a big fight almost immediately. As the inshore season picks up, there are times when we’re sight-casting to sharks, making for some truly thrilling moments.
For the rest of the year, we’ll head to a nearby oil rig, anchor up, and bottom fish for sharks. The fishing tactics we use depend on the weather, water conditions, and currents, but we always focus on the most productive fishing methods for the day.
Where We Go
On our Galveston Shark Fishing Charters, we venture up to 9 miles offshore, past the Galveston Jetties, and several miles off the beachfront. We’ll be drifting behind shrimp boats, searching for schooling baitfish, tying off to a nearby rig, or visiting the radio tower—all while keeping an eye out for sharks, ling (cobia), jacks, and more.
